Grad Student Position Details
MSc or PhD research in Analytical Geochemistry
Dr. William Shotyk
Project Start Date
The SWAMP lab is seeking highly motivated individuals to undertake research related to the size-based separation and characterization of dissolved trace element species.
The ideal candidate will have graduate-level research experience in chemistry, geochemistry, or biogeochemistry, with a strong background in analytical chemistry and an interest in aquatic colloidal systems.
Fieldwork experience and familiarity with AF4 or ICP-MS are assets.
Benefits of undertaking research in the SWAMP include supervision and training by globally recognized experts in ultraclean sampling and analysis methods, geochemistry, and AF4-ICPMS.
Analytical methods will be applied to better understand the sampling and measurement of dissolved trace element species in the Athabasca River (AR).
Although the context of the PhD project will be the AR, analytical chemistry and instrumental methods will be the primary areas of focus. For more information, contact Dr. Chad W. Cuss (firstname.lastname@example.org).
